What is Netspeak

Netspeak is Cable & Wireless' internet phone service which allows you to make overseas calls over your High-Speed Internet connection for a fixed low rate every month. No need to watch the clock and great value for money! Cable & Wireless offers great calling plans to the Caribbean, USA and Canada, and to the UK and select European countries.

In addition, Netspeak offers great calling features like Caller ID, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Conference Calling & Voicemail FREE!

Note Carefully:

  1. Customers must provide their own analog telephone for use with the Netspeak Analog telephone Adapter (ATA).
  2. Netspeak calls only apply to calls made from the telephone connected to the ATA.
  3. Standard fixed-line charges will be applied to calls made to service types, numbers or locations not included in your Netspeak package.
  4. Calls to toll-free numbers, premium rate personal numbers, and other premium services are not included. These are numbers to which specific billing conditions apply and which are designated by the foreign telephone company and its customers as such. You are advised to ascertain from the person you are calling the type of service which they have.
  5. "USA" refers to the contiguous 48 states and does not include calls to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands or Guam.
  6. "UK fixed lines" does not include calls to premium rate personal numbers (including calls to numbers prefixed by the sequence(s) 01144845, 01144870 or 01144871).
  7. "Western Europe" includes the following countries - Ireland, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, France, Germany, Norway, Italy, Luxembourg, Sweden, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Ireland, Belgium and Finland.
  8. Cable & Wireless Caribbean fixed line and bmobile destinations include: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks and Caicos.
  9. “TSTT” refers to calls to Telecommunication Services of Trinidad and Tobago fixed lines only.
  10. Caller ID, Call Waiting, 3-Way Calling, Call Forwarding and Voicemail. Note: A suitable analog telephone must be used to access all of the features offered by the service.

MODEMS

The SpeedStream ATA will not work with the following modems:
- Starbridge
- Thomson
- Efficient Networks

If required, the following modems can be purchased at 50% discount when ordered with Netspeak:
- Zhone/Paradyne 6212: 4-port modem – $94.50 (regular price $189)
- Zhone/Paradyne 6218: 4-port + Wireless modem – $184.50 (regular price $369)

DSL LINE/MODEM REQUIREMENTS
To use the ATA (in Barbados or elsewhere), following conditions must be met:

Ethernet Port – the ATA can only be connected to the High Speed Internet (HSI) line via an Ethernet port. Customers must ensure that the HSI modem they are using has an Ethernet port that can be used to connect the ATA.

SIP Enabled – For the ATA to work, the HSI line must be Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) enabled. Cable & Wireless has no control over the configuration of HSI lines provided by other service providers. It is the customer’s responsibility to check and ensure that the line they will be using for Netspeak is SIP enabled.

ELECTRICAL POWER REQUIREMENTS Cable & Wireless provides a 110-120V power adapter with the ATA. Provisions for use with any other power supply are the responsibility of the customer.
